Systems Innovation Co-Op

This program offers high-caliber students the ability to apply their knowledge in a practical business setting during a six-month, full-time assignment. Gournay Consulting co-ops truly become a part of the team through meaningful project work, exposure to all aspects of the business, active participation in team meetings and on-going mentorship.

The primary responsibility of this position is assisting the System Innovations Team with both large-scale and ad hoc project work in support of business initiatives. The Systems Innovation department is responsible for assessing business opportunities, developing solutions, setting priorities, and working toward those goals while managing multiple diverse projects. Projects will often include development work on custom connections between Salsify, a Product Information Management system (PIM), and outside systems, including Shopify, BigCommerce, Drupal, Magento, MuleSoft, SAP, inRiver, Stibo, and WebDAM, to name just a few. Other projects will include working on custom scripts and systems for internal Gournay Consulting use, such as utilizing OCR and ML platforms.

This role will involve:
Understand both our clients’ and our company’s business needs and end goals to develop automated and value-adding solutions and systems
Collaborate and communicate internally with team members to identify solution options, learn from past experiences, and innovate new solutions
Develop and maintain expert level understanding of Salsify and its business application
Utilize various coding in tandem with established platforms to create innovative data paths and intuitive user experiences
Provide service delivery, including project management, design, and configuration, and training a solution mindset, with the utmost professionalism
Learn (and drive new) industry best practices and identify how solutions can be leveraged to implement these practices for client success
Work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Actively participate in team meetings, project meetings and training sessions
Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19
Successful co-ops may be considered for full-time employment after completion of their college degree.
You're a great fit if:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university at the time of application, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with an expected graduation in 2023-2024 (Junior or Senior Student.)
Concentration major in Computer Science Programming, Software/Electrical/Computer Engineering preferred
A minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA
Ability to work full time (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday) for 6-month duration
Programming experience, whether indirect (such as courses in programming, hobby programming), or direct (employment experience)
Understanding of JavaScript, NodeJS, ReactJS, and Firebase are recommended. Experiences with and/or understanding of API connections between systems are also highly preferred.
Experience with version control software such as GitHub for maintaining code integrity and tracking changes and bugs, or an understanding of how this process works
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Highly detailed-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively both written and verbally
A fundamental curiosity and desire to analyze and solve business problems with a wide range of business applications
A willingness to learn, adapt, and pivot
A self-starter with initiative and drive to innovate
Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to think strategically and align client business pain points to solution options, while also being able to dive into the details to implement an approach
