Systems Engineer II

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to add a key member to the team in a Systems Engineer II role. This role develops and delivers custom solutions for both internal and client use and translates business needs to develop technical solutions. Assigned projects will include development work on custom solutions including workflows, digital applications to maximize productivity, API connectors between MarTech platforms such as PIMs, DTCs, DAMs, CMSs, Project Management Software and ERPs utilizing languages like NextJS, HTML, CSS, and other front-end, user-facing development languages. This role entails strong internal and external communication skills combined with technical expertise. The System Engineer II may have people management responsibilities assigned in the future.

What are we looking for?

Applicants are required to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a preferred concentration major in Computer Science, Programming, Software/Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of programming experience, including indirect experience (such as courses in programming, hobby programming), with minimum 3 years related, full-time employment experience.
  • Deep understanding of HTML and CSS and experience with JavaScript and NextJS.
  • Working knowledge of PIMs and DAMs with ability to assess new platforms for API and functional capabilities.
  • Deep experience with version control software such as GitHub for maintaining code integrity and tracking changes and bugs, or an understanding of how this process works.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively both written and verbally and present complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly detailed oriented, commitment to accuracy and strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Has a growth mindset and thrives in an agile and fast-paced work environment with autonomy to drive outcomes.
  • The role is office based, with remote working flexibility offered on Fridays.

Core Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain expert level understanding of priority MarTech platforms, including Salsify, Akeneo, Bynder, Contentful, Monday, Shopify and their respective business application.
  • Utilize various coding languages/frameworks, including NextJS and Java Script, in tandem with established platforms to create innovative data paths and intuitive user experiences.
  • Lead investigating new platforms APIs and capabilities, develop synopsis and present to managing partner to evaluate potential development opportunities.
  • Provide service delivery, including project management, design, configuration, and documentation for internal and external projects;
  • Ensure responsibilities are accurately tracked and completed on time with status updates proactively communicated to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Supervise app roll out including usage synopsis, training, tracking of tool usage, and usage expansion as applicable.
  • Understand both our clients’ and our company’s business needs and end goals to develop automated and value-adding solutions and systems.
  • Adhere to best practices for testing and QA of solutions, workflows, and system configurations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor and maintain existing systems to avoid any business disruption.
  • Monitor packages/patches used in GC architecture to update, test, and deploy updates as needed.
  • Learn and drive new industry best practices and identify how solutions can be leveraged to implement these practices for client success as well as collaborate and communicate internally with team members to understand challenges, identify solution options, learn from past experiences, and innovate innovative solutions.

*Please note:

Base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000, based upon experience.

Preference will be given to candidates already within a commutable distance to our office location.
